One critical aspect of an artist's career is having a manager. Here are five reasons why music artists need a manager:

Business management: An artist manager can handle the business aspects of an artist's career, including finances, contracts, and negotiations. A manager can help the artist secure favorable deals, protect their interests, and maximize their revenue.

Industry connections: An experienced manager can leverage their network of industry contacts to help the artist secure gigs, collaborations, and other opportunities that can advance their career. A manager's relationships can also provide access to resources that may be difficult to obtain otherwise.

Time management: Managing an artist's career is a full-time job, and it can be challenging for artists to balance their creative work with the demands of running a business. A manager can take care of the day-to-day tasks, freeing up the artist to focus on their music.

Strategic planning: A manager can help an artist develop a long-term career strategy, including setting goals, identifying opportunities, and building a brand. By taking a strategic approach, an artist can build a sustainable career that will stand the test of time.

Emotional support: The music industry can be a tough and stressful environment, with many ups and downs. A good manager can provide emotional support and guidance to help the artist navigate the challenges and stay focused on their goals.

Here are some examples of famous rappers with managers:

Jay-Z: Shawn "Jay-Z" Carter has had a long-standing partnership with his manager, Tyran "Ty Ty" Smith. Smith has been instrumental in shaping Jay-Z's career, negotiating lucrative deals and partnerships, and helping him build his business empire.

Kendrick Lamar: Lamar has worked with Dave Free and Terrence "Punch" Henderson, the founders of the record label Top Dawg Entertainment. Free and Henderson have helped Lamar build his brand and navigate the music industry, resulting in multiple Grammy Awards and critical acclaim.

Cardi B: Cardi B's manager is Klenord "Shaft" Raphael, who has been with her since the early days of her career. Raphael has helped Cardi B secure high-profile collaborations and endorsement deals, and has been a key figure in her rise to fame.

Drake: Drake is managed by Oliver El-Khatib, who is also a co-founder of Drake's record label, OVO Sound. El-Khatib has helped Drake develop his sound and image, and has been instrumental in his success as a recording artist and performer.

J. Cole: J. Cole is managed by Ibrahim "IB" Hamad, who is also the co-founder of J. Cole's Dreamville record label. Hamad has played a key role in developing J. Cole's career, from his early mixtapes to his critically acclaimed albums and world tours.

In conclusion, a manager can be a vital partner for a music artist, providing business management, industry connections, time management, strategic planning, and emotional support. The examples of famous rappers with managers demonstrate the importance of this role in building successful music careers.

As an independent music artist, it can be challenging to navigate the music industry on your own. With the ever-evolving landscape of the digital age, it's easy to get lost in the sea of artists trying to make it big. That's where a manager comes in.

Having a manager on your team can provide numerous benefits for your career. They can help with booking gigs, negotiating contracts, managing finances, and promoting your music. With their expertise and connections in the industry, they can open doors that you may not have been able to access on your own.

Statistics show that even major artists have managers on their team. In fact, a study conducted by the International Music Managers Forum (IMMF) found that 92% of its members' clients (who are major artists) have managers. This indicates the importance of having a manager to guide an artist's career, regardless of their level of success.

Another survey conducted by Berklee College of Music found that artists with managers tend to earn higher revenues than those without. The study showed that artists with managers earned an average of $10,141 more per year than those without.

Moreover, managers can provide invaluable support for independent artists who may not have the resources or experience to handle the business side of their career. They can help you focus on your music and creative endeavors while they handle the administrative and logistical aspects.

In conclusion, having a manager on your team can make a significant difference in your career as an independent music artist. Not only can they provide access to opportunities and connections, but they can also help you navigate the industry with their expertise and support. The statistics speak for themselves, and it's clear that even major artists rely on managers to further their careers.

Drake confirmed this himself in an Instagram Live session when a fan inquired about whether he has recorded with producer to which Drake replied âme and Piâerre already got one.â

Drakeâs releases in 2018 like the singles from Scary Hours will not be part of the project although his single âNice for Whatâ might make it on the track list. One track that has a confirmed place on the album for now is âIâm Upset.â The track was released a day after his âDuppy Freestyle,â the rebuttal to Pusha Tâs diss on his album DAYTONA.

Another thing that can be expected on the album is Drakeâs Afro-Caribbean sound. Fans have already noticed the presence of Nigerian artist Tekno on his Instagram which could possibly lead to collaboration on a track.

A factor that has increased the anticipation for this album is the recent beef between Pusha T and Drake. Although it seems to have paused due to some intervention, there is no doubt that Drake would address the beef properly on tracks. Pusha T has already done some damage by alleging that Drake has a secret child. It is being rumored that Drake was going to announce this secret child on his album but Pusha T beat him to it. The beef is still developing so itâs still not known how it will affect the album. For now, we can only take the word of Drake close confidant Preme who took to Instagram after hearing some of the tracks. âAnd just know. That Scorpion album. Holy f*ck,â he wrote. âYou should never have pissed Champagne off.â

Source: https://www.eurweb.com/2018/06/scorpion-drakes-summer-surprise-is-now-out-listen/

NEW MUSIC FROM MARY J. Why itâs none other than Ciara.

The new song is called âLevel Upâ and it comes after the birth of her daughter Sienna.

We hear the song was inspired by the controversy she caused earlier this year when she shared a sermon by pastor John W. Gray III in which he shamed single women for not carrying themselves like a wife. And if youâre wondering what the heck that means, youâre not alone.

Anyway, watch below and see if you can figure it out.

In other Ciara news, earlier we reported the singer/dancer has filed court papers against her ex Future â this time claiming that heâs becoming an absentee dad.

In new documents obtained by TMZ, the singer claims Future is missing too many scheduled visits with his three-year-old son, Future Jr.

Ciara says her ex only has made just 37 percent of his scheduled visits, and many of those are at the last minute. She also alleges that during the elderâs trips to his native Georgia with their son, the boy spends most of his time with elderly relatives, and she rarely gets to FaceTime her son to make sure heâs okay.

Ciara, who also has baby daughter Sienna Princess with husband Russell Wilson, further claims that little Future has health issues stemming from all the cross-country travel with his father, and that itâs causing him to have emotional breakdowns at school.

Sheâs seeking mediation with Future, so they can hammer out a better schedule for their sonâs travel and for the sake of his health, TMZ reports.

Source: https://www.eurweb.com/2018/07/check-it-new-music-from-ciara-level-up-listen/

R KELLY ADDRESSES SEXUAL MISCONDUCT ALLEGATIONS ON NEW 19-MINUTE TRACK âI ADMIT ITâ (LISTEN)https://www.thekhaliseum.com/news/r-kelly-addresses-sexual-misconduct-allegations-on-new-19-minute-2018-09-03T07:44:51.000Z2018-09-03T07:44:51.000ZShovon Shilhttps://www.thekhaliseum.com/members/ShovonShil

*R Kelly is apparently looking to cash in on his sexual misconduct allegations with a new 19-minute song that addresses the accusations made against him by multiple young women.

Taking to Instagram Live Sunday night, the crooner teased âI Admit It,â a trap-flavored, auto-tuned response in which he sings, âI done made some mistakes,â but goes on to deny allegations of sexual misconduct. âHow they gonâ say I donât respect these women, when all Iâve done is represent (30 years)/ Take my career and turn it upside down, âcause you mad Iâve got some girlfriends (girlfriends),â he sings.

Kelly admits to being with âolder and younger [ladies]â and also references the ongoing #MuteRKelly campaign.

âI admit I f**k with all the ladies, thatâs both older and young ladies (ladies, yeah)/ But tell me how they call it pedophile because that s**t is crazy (crazy)/ You may have your opinions, entitled to your opinions (opinions)/ But really am I supposed to go to jail or lose my career because of your opinion/ Yeah, go ahead and stone me, point your finger at me (stone me, yeah, yeah)/ Turn the world against me, but only god can mute me (against me, mute me)â

He gets specific about allegations charged by the parents of Jocelyn Savage, who say Kelly began dating their 19-year-old daughter in 2016 and proceeded to cut off her communication with them. The parents accuse Kelly of brainwashing, grooming, and imprisoning their daughter and multiple other women at his homes in both Chicago and Georgia. For her part, Savage said she was âtotally fine [and] happy where Iâm at.â

âSaid Iâm abusing these women, what the f**k thatâs some absurd s**t (what?)/ Theyâre brainwashed, really? But itâs not what he had to say about the film thatâs really getting folksâ attention. Nope, he told listeners that he pretty much had a near death experience when he found himself up close and person with a copâs gun in his face ⌠in his own home!

âI am sure you hear about all the reports of Black men being attacked by police,â Clay Cane said to Rhames. You are a big star, but how does racism show itself in your life?â

Rhames, 59, went on to tell his terrifying story of Sant Monica, California police pulling a 9-mm gun on him ⌠again, in his own home, mind you.

âThis happened this year. I am in my home, it was around 2:15 p.m. in the afternoon,â Rhames said. âIâm in my house, Iâm in a pair of basketball shorts only. I have two English bulldog puppies. I hear a noise in my backyard but Iâm thinking the puppies are just running around, and then I get a knock on the front door.â

Rhames continued: âI get up, Iâm just in my basketball shorts â literally. I get up, I open the door and there is a red dot pointed at my face from a 9-mm. They say put up your hands, literally. I just walked and opened up the door. ⌠Then they said open the front screen door. They say do it with one hand so then I have to do it with one hand. My hands are up and they have me outside.â

There were a group of police officers, a police dog and the captain of police, Rhames also said. Fortunately, the captain recognized Rhames, but not for the reason you might think. No, not because heâs a famous actor, but their children play sports against each other. In any event, the police claimed the Golden Globes winnerâs neighbor called and said a âlarge black manâ was breaking into a home.

â ⌠Myself, the sergeant and one of the police officers went over to the house, which was across the street from my place, and the person denied it. So here I am in my own home, alone in some basketball shorts and just because someone called and said a large Black man is breaking [in,] when I opened up the wooden door, a 9-mm is pointed at me.â

Rhames realizes he is lucky that the captain recognized him.

âMy problem is, as I said this to them, what if it was my son and he had a video game remote or something and you thought it was a gun?â Rhames said.

Source: https://www.eurweb.com/2018/07/ving-rhames-shares-9-mm-in-the-face-experience-with-police-because-of-white-neighbor-listen/

LEND YOUR EARS TO THESE AWESOME BLACK PODCASTShttps://www.thekhaliseum.com/news/lend-your-ears-to-these-awesome-black-podcasts-12018-09-03T07:38:27.000Z2018-09-03T07:38:27.000ZShovon Shilhttps://www.thekhaliseum.com/members/ShovonShil

*Since podcasts came along, commuting has been forever changed. Whether in your car or on the train, itâs hard to beat the entertainment or knowledge you gain from listening to a podcast. In 2018, itâs rare that we think anyone would need to know what a podcast is, as the medium has exploded in popularity due to the likes of Serial, This American Life, and The Joe Rogan Experience. Podcasters, it seems, are becoming the new radio stars.

It should come as no surprise that a great many listenable podcasts have emerged from talented and funny black hosts across the U.S. From sports to movies to social issues, these hosts are just some of the voices of our nation right now, and they most certainly deserve your undivided attention during your next commute.

Much like fellow ex-NBA star Chris Webber, Shaqâs deep, booming voice works surprisingly well in podcast form, with Diesel naturally discussing current events surrounding basketball, but all sorts of entertainment news and randomness generally happen on the podcast. The big guy has some wild stories to tell and youâre never short of laughs here, but things can also get a bit emotional, primarily when one-time-enemy-but-still-friend-and-ex-Laker Kobe Bryant joined the show for an engaging reunion with Shaq.

Jonathan, James, and Jerah are three guys who focus predominantly on the film and TV careers of black actors, with news, reviews, and interviews making up the run time of each episode. Although the guys try to present a more lighthearted and fun look at the entertainment industry, they do take the topic incredibly seriously and really know their stuff. Recently featured on the podcast was Charles Stone, the director of Kyrie Irvingâs first motion picture, âUncle Drewâ.

Although you might think these four very chatty and hilarious women (Ramou, Alesia, Fatima, and Aurelia) simply end up talking over each other, this couldnât be any further from the truth. Intelligent, thought-provoking but still entertaining discussions take place on the matters of race, pop culture, politics, and letâs be honest, simply random girl talk. Every now and then a guest appears, but really, itâs the camaraderie between these four black ladies which is the heart of the podcast.

Hosts Kid Fury and Crissle have such a fantastic dynamic between the two of them, that youâll instantly be hooked on their smart (but often silly) banter. With Kid Fury hailing from Miami and Crissle from Oklahoma City, the fact that both now record the show in New York lends itself well to a fascinating insight into two black friends simply trying to make it in The Big Apple. The duo routinely cover pop culture and hip-hop news, but certainly arenât afraid to voice their opinions on anyone they think needs taking down a peg or two.

Source: https://www.eurweb.com/2018/08/lend-your-ears-to-these-awesome-black-podcasts/

NICKI MINAJ DELAYS TOUR AMID REPORTS OF DISAPPOINTING TICKET SALEShttps://www.thekhaliseum.com/news/nicki-minaj-delays-tour-amid-reports-of-disappointing-ticket-sa-12018-09-03T07:35:40.000Z2018-09-03T07:35:40.000ZShovon Shilhttps://www.thekhaliseum.com/members/ShovonShil

*Nicki Minaj has pushed back the start of her upcoming tour with Future, citing the need for more time to âreevaluate elements of production,â but the announcement comes as the New York Post reports of the rapper âspiraling out of controlâ amid disastrous ticket sales.

Weâre told stubs for her upcoming tour â to begin next month â arenât flying off the shelves.

A Live Nation source told us, âNickiâs tour could be the most disappointing ticket sales of the year for any artist. She canât take it that she sold less records than Cardi B (whoâs stealing her thunder big time) in her first week; she canât take it that Travis beat her to No. 1. Her ticket sales for her tour are in the toilet, and itâs making her even more crazy.â

This comes after a major Minaj meltdown on Twitter, when she caused a stir by comparing herself to abolitionist Harriet Tubman. Pryor has announced the release of her highly anticipated book âARENâT YOU SCARED? â Lessons from a Lady Rideshare Driver.â The book gives us a glimpse into the world of female rideshare drivers. ARENâT YOU SCARED⌠was released on April 13 and is available via the authorâs website at http://lessonsfromaladyridesharedriver.com and online via Amazon Kindle.

Pryor has done an excellent job penning her first nonfiction work. In just under 70 pages, ARENâT YOU SCARED⌠(ISBN Number 9781513634098-51299 print: 12.99 \ 978151363408-1999 eBook: 9.99) quickly proves itself as âthe little book we never knew we needed, until it arrived!â

It captures the comical, incredible and to say the least, interesting, humanistic experiences Pryor is privy to daily. Despite occasionally asking herself âDid I really sign up for this?â the author shares how shocked she is to actually enjoy being an UBER driver, but more importantly, sheâs a natural people person, making her a perfect host driver and often-times, sounding board, for the multitude of personalities she encounters each day.

Pryor says when she mentions the book, people ask if it is about all of the interesting people she meets; and it is, it just doesnât stop there. It goes deeper because of who it was written for. Pryor, who has a background in communications and has taught classes at UCLA Extension, wants people to understand the âcultureâ of rideshare so she delves into how she handles difficult situations and challenging behaviors, what she has learned about different cultures and races (including her own); how to âreadâ people and know when to talk or be quiet. And in a phrase she coined herself, she speaks about The Human Zone where her actual ridersâ comments display the conversational

magic that happens in her UBER when people drop the facades behind race, religion, politics, and culture and speak from the heart.

Pryor admits, âWe really do have more in common than we think.â

A poignant quote from one rider so touched by the conversation he had with his driver saysâŚ

âTypically Iâm not one to talk a whole lot with my driver but the conversation I had with Deborah was insightful, inspiring and uplifting. Living in Los Angeles, like any modern metropolis, can be difficult and isolating, but its people like her that help remind us all of the inherent hope and potential for goodness within us all.â

Another rider talks about how he had left his keys in the car, and Pryor hunted him down in a restaurant before the night was over to return them. He called her âa life saver!â

âBeing an Uber driver or driver for any rideshare service is nothing short of life altering,â Pryor writes. âThe people you meet and the conversations you share (and those you overhear); the moods you encounter, diverse personalities â not to mention cultures â can all serve as learning experiences if you let them,â adds Pryor, a Brooklyn native who talks about the pros and the cons of the business; along with some incredible highlights â such as the conversation behind her 16-minute drive with Paris Jackson, the 19-year-old daughter of the âKing of Pop,â and how she dreaded the moment the pretty actress and model asked the question all riders end up asking eventuallyâŚ

âWhat kind of writing do you do?â

Knowing how much her dad, Michael Jackson, detested journalists, and not wanting to make Paris uncomfortable, Pryor writes her innermost thought at that moment was, âKill me now.â

THE KNOW CONTEMPORARY INSPIRES CONVERSATION WITH NEW SHOWhttps://www.thekhaliseum.com/news/the-know-contemporary-inspires-conversation-with-new-show2018-09-01T14:04:29.000Z2018-09-01T14:04:29.000ZShovon Shilhttps://www.thekhaliseum.com/members/ShovonShil

Source: https://www.eurweb.com/2018/05/the-know-contemporary-inspires-conversation-with-new-show/

Visual Artist Knowledge Bennett displays a gallery of thought-provoking pieces

Visual artist Knowledge Bennett, owner of the new Know Contemporary Gallery in downtown Los Angeles, California opens a new show.

When artists make art they expose themselves to examination by others. Even artists who create without emotion or connection to the individual pieces of art, such as an airbrush artist who produces one hundred of the same design over and over, daily, eventually there will be a piece of the artist personality laced inside of one of those designs. A swirl on the end of the letters, his favorite ghosting effect. His essence will remain in the paint.

When the artist is motivated and pushed by external motivations, he will create the opportunity to display his art. He will put his innermost into each specialized piece. Depending upon the contents of the artist, that essence might vary.

âIâve always thought it to be the responsibility of the artist to help restore a degree of dignity, integrity, and sense of humanity,â explained visual artist Knowledge Bennett, owner of the new Know Contemporary Gallery in downtown Los Angeles, California.

Fusing contemporary images with large-scale screen printing, Bennettâs work makes statements concerning the realities of our current society, focused on the African American experience.

Stark, monotone images contrast against the sometimes vibrant colors of each piece. Those colors clash like the truth springing from the montages of messages cut and pasted together with classic newspaper footage. Nixon stares at the viewers, his multiple faces, some in the inverse, some standing taller than the crowd. Images of Obama in a Clint Eastwood stance multiply like the end of a drunken western brawl. Madonna still loving Pac, follows you down the back hallways, and the leaders of nations are screaming curses, combined.

âTHE MOâKELLY SHOWâ â A CAPPELLA SENSATION NATURALLY 7 STOPS BY! Even though his last album, Views, came out in 2016, he has been providing a steady supply to fans till date with EPs, singles and âplaylist.â

However, 2018 will be the year that fans get to see Champagne Papi back in album mode. The album title Scorpionrefers to Drakeâs Zodiac sign Scorpio, given his birthday falls on October 24. Fans, who already know the rapperâs connection to the month, were quick to make the connection.

Drake took to his Instagram account to share photos of a medallion embellished with a diamond-encrusted scorpion and a jacket with the announcement details on it. So far, we can confirm that the album will drop on June 2018, though Drake is quiet about the exact date.

Further details that can be confirmed include the return of Noah â40â Shebib and Oliver El-Khatib as executive producers. 40 alongside OVO signee Boi-1-da will be handling production on the tracks. Piâerre Bourne, who produced Playboi Cartiâs âMagnoliaâ is also expected to have a hand in creating Scorpion. Drake confirmed this himself in an Instagram Live session when a fan inquired about whether he has recorded with producer to which Drake replied âme and Piâerre already got one.â

OTHER NEWS YOU MIGHT HAVE MISSED: SECOND MAN WANTED FOR QUESTIONING IN XXXTENTACIONâS FATAL SHOOTING

NEW MUSIC FROM MARY J.
