Atlanta, GA – August 18th, 2025 – GDE Management, founded by entrepreneur and media personality Shorty Roc, proudly announces the signing of Vanessa Jodie, an Atlanta-based singer-songwriter, to an exclusive management deal. Under this agreement, Shorty Roc will serve as her official and exclusive manager, overseeing her career development and expansion in the music industry.
Born Vanessa Jodie Mellish on September 7, 1991, in Raleigh, NC, and raised in Washington, DC, Jodie is of Liberian, West Indian, and Jamaican descent. She discovered her passion for music through the piano, writing her own notes as she learned to read music. By age 11, she was already writing lyrics with dreams of stardom.
In 2020, Vanessa Jodie made her official debut with “Touch My Body”, followed by a collaboration on Pop Smoke’s “Welcome to the Party.” Later that year, she dropped her second single “Leave You.” Her momentum continued with infectious club bangers like “Rolie Polie” and “Shake It Up” (2022), and her most recent single “Fall Back” (2024). Drawing inspiration from icons such as Whitney Houston, Monica, and Tamia, Jodie crafts music that inspires, uplifts, and connects with listeners worldwide.
